THE CULPRITS RESPONSIBLE
We are a label run by three chums from Cardiff, Wales, UK. We are proud that all our Twitter posts are geo-tagged with Butetown, Cardiff, UK. As it’s super cool that the very area that put Cardiff on the map is right slap bang where we run the label from. Anyone who has seen the film Tiger Bay will know what an amazing area it is.
Right now, we’re in a grade 1 listed building, let’s see how long we can keep the rent up.
If ever there was a danger of any of us moving to London, that culprit would be Andy. Alex and Leon keep it real. In fact, Leon never goes to Llundain, if he does, it’s either in style or for serious amounts of money.
3 Syllables was a name that actually came from a dream Leon had about running a record label and he had like Pink Floyd and some supergroup which involved Eric Clapton and a load of space aliens on the books (all aliens are from space right?!). Not one for tempting fate, when the label was actually conceived, it was agreed that the label name would be 3 Syllables Records. People think it’s named so because there’s three of us, that’s bollocks, because Leon said he had the dream 6 months before he even met Andy.
Although, Leon and Alex were neighbours from like 28 years ago and had a plethora of noise abatement orders from the local authorities as Leon’s drumming in their genre defining band was just too damn loud for the shovel wielding neighbours.
As for Andy, Leon or Alex can’t actually remember how we ‘found‘ him. Although I suspect it was at a Peter Broderick gig we all attended and drank Orangina together.
I’m gonna sabotage this page and find as many embarrassing pictures and slap them up here because the other two don’t know how to update the site! Chortle!
